Job Summary
Deck restoration and timber repairs at a Highgate Hill home, covering the deck boards, stairs, railings and privacy screens. The work included surface preparation and recoating, a localised timber repair to the external door and replacement of a damaged under-deck timber slat. The before-and-after photographs show the refreshed deck finish, restored privacy screening and associated timber repairs.

3/3Deck Restoration & Recoating - Already Approved via Airtasker
Preparation and recoating of the agreed deck area, including sanding and surface preparation, cleaning, approximately 18m x 1.2m of decking, approximately 20 linear metres of timber railing, 7 timber steps and 4 privacy screens. Includes 1 coat Cabot’s oil-based undercoat and 2 coats Cabot’s acrylic topcoat in Classic Walnut. This scope has already been approved under the existing Airtasker booking.
Localised Timber Rot Repair - Additional Work
Remove loose and deteriorated timber from the affected area at the base of the external door, treat remaining sound timber, rebuild damaged section using exterior-grade timber repair compound, sand and shape repair, and refinish to blend with the existing timber. Price assumes rot is localised to the visible area.
Under-Deck Timber Slat Replacement - Additional Work
Remove damaged/missing timber section beneath the deck, supply and install replacement timber slat, prepare surface and coat to match the surrounding timber finish as closely as practical.
